NOOOOOOOOO!!! Not Terin!
Tide gymnastics suffers a huge setback
Are they telling me I have to deal with an NCAA Championships without Courtney K. and Terin?!
Now who will win the NCAA uneven bars title? (Maybe Anna Li and her ZOMG Tkatchev?)
EDIT: Now that I have recovered sufficiently from the shock, I realize that this should not really [...]

I’m sorry to keep harping on about this, but the gymnastics fan in me is devastated.
The Olympic Effect posted its reaction to Courtney’s injury.
Miss Kupets being carried off the floor by a UGA coach-person
It’s like an Elegy. The author seemed confident that Courtney really was gunning for a comeback after NCAA Championships (despite her [...]

Not to take away from Nastia’s triumph (YOU GO NAST!), but this just sucks so much.
Kupets Tears Achilles
Even if Courtney were remotely thinking about a Beijing comeback, this probably means No, for real this time. Back when she tore her Achilles in 2003, it took one year to get back into the swing of things. Now [...]

Here is Melanie Sinclair, 2005 American Cup medalist and now one of the top Gator gymnasts at the University of Florida, dancing at an international meet (and mortifying Nastia Liukin in the process).
Go Gators. I think.

I just had to post this, because I love me some Ishino.
Aleksas pointed me to Allyse Ishino’s floor routine from the UCLA vs. Stanford meet (I believe UCLA won, drat.)
Can I get a ”Yeah, baby!” ? (Though I could do with a little less of the faux belly-dancing.)
For UCLA’s sake, here’s Ye Olde Olympian Tasha Schwikert (gymnastics [...]

A beautifully nostalgic article about the Courtneys that also features a telephone interview (audio!) with Terin.
I like how the article (which is pro-UGA) makes the Courtneys look like OMGYAY they’re BFF!!
McCool and Humphrey had a love-hate relationship. Woo.
McCool is not making a run for Beijing, and the article reiterates the sad truth that Kupets may very [...]

The Gymblog reported on a Montgomery Advertiser article: it says that 2004 Olympic silver medalist (and current University of Alabama gymnast) Terin Humphrey is going to be indefinitely sidelined until further notice because:
The former Olympic medal winner and two-time NCAA uneven bars champion has competed in just event this year, sidelined by a mysterious muscular [...]

I was ecstatic to find videos of 2004 Olympic alternate Allyse Ishino competing this month. I was not happy when Allyse was sidelined because of blood clots in her lungs, but now she’s raring to go, and hopefully she’ll give Stanford a big boost this year.
Allyse was one of my sentimental favorites leading up to [...]

(In response to Utah’s win over Georgia: SHOCK HORROR. But they’ve got the rest of the season, and Georgia’s head coach Suzanne Yoculan likes to be an underdog anyway.)
The following videos were kindly filmed by Youtube user kradunzel.
Tabitha Yim, January 13, 2008, Stanford vs. Georgia (Georgia won of course.) And OMGWTF! at Stanford’s leotards:
Tabby hasn’t lost her [...]
