Lonely Hearts’ Club Band

Carly Patterson isn’t the only former gymnast to (try to) enter the music industry. Former Romanian gymnast and 2001 Worlds medallist Sabina Cojocar launched a music career as well, though I’ve no idea how successful she’s been.
Carly’s Music Myspace (she has two new singles, and a remix of an old song). Very catchy stuff, if teen pop is your thing. One of her singles “Temporary Life” is available on iTunes (OMG RLY?).
Sabina Cojocar singing her song on a Romanian TV show:
It would have been better without those background dancers…the song is apparently available on iTunes, as well.
Here’s ‘Sabi’, as she’s called by fans, as a gymnast:
Sabina Cojocar, 2001 Goodwill Games all-around floor exercise
AMAZING whip to triple twist (last tumbling pass), despite the slightly crossed legs and squished landing. Unfortunately, Sabina’s gymnastics career was cut short, during the 2001-2002 Romanian Scandals Debacle.
You may know that 1996 Olympian Alexandra Marinescu (ROU) also has a music career of sorts, as a trance/electronica DJ.
Alexandra’s Music Myspace…if you’re into Eurotrash Trance. Her Myspace is altogether much more professional-looking than Carly’s, though that is understandable because this is Alexandra’s job, whereas for Carly it’s a…um, I don’t know.
