Gymnasts in Vogue

Hope you all had a happy Easter.

So if you hadn’t heard already, Nastia, Shawn, Chellsie, and Alicia were in the most recent issue of Vogue, I assume as some sort of promotional thing for the Olympics. It’s not like they haven’t done it before; during the run-up to the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Vogue did a photoshoot that included Allyse Ishino, who would go on to be an alternate at the Games.

I wonder if Chellsie being in all this stuff means something for her chances at Beijing. One of the promotional trailers on NBCOlympics.com even mentions her, Shawn, and Nastia as the main contenders in women’s gymnastics, although many would agree that Alicia has a better shot at the team than Chellsie does.

The picture and the complementary article may be found at Nastia’s official website. The article mentions Oksana Chusovitina (GER) who is erroneously called “Oksana Rakhmatulina” or something like that.
