Underwear

Dear International Gymnast,
I appreciate that you did a feature on Bridget Sloan. I love her.
But did you really have to use a picture that shows her leotard riding up so that the reader can see her underwear?!

I hate to see their underwear, why do they make the leos so high up?? i think its gross i dont need to be looking at pictures and half of them are showing the girls underwear.

I’m surprised that at international meets you can SEE their underwear. At our JO/Prep Opt and before that, power tumbling (JO, not Elite) meets if our underwear were showing we had to take them off. We learned REAL quick to wear some that either didn’t stick out, or matching briefs.
That’s the problem with these high-cut leotards. They turn into leo-thongs and you can see the gymnasts underwear. I wish the leotards were cut more like how the Chinese gymnasts have theirs (funnily enough, it was the Chinese WAG team that got the penalty back in 1992 for their leotards for being the way most gymnasts’ are now).
