What Makes Milo Fly?
March 12, 2008 by northernriver
So I watched the Milo documentary that I stayed up late to download: “What Makes Milo Fly?”
And oh my friends, it was GLORIOUS STUFF. The music was suitably dramatic and cheesy, the narrator had a British accent, and Milo’s quadriceps were very defined. Hee hee hee.
Yes, the documentary was wonderful. Except for that nonsense about Milo being “too old” at 19. Ugh! Good grief. Yes, as it turned out, 1995 would be Milo’s last World Championships, but that doesn’t mean she was “too old”! Did they forget about Boguinskaya?
The documentary dates from 1995, and features Octavian Belu talking a lot, as well as teeny cameos by Gina Gogean, Simona Amânar, Ionela Loaies, Andreea Cacovean, Claudia Presecan (?), Lilia Podkopayeva, Svetlana Khorkina, and Mo Huilan.
It’s on Youtube, but instead of a British narrator, the Youtube version has a stupid American narrator who mispronounces “Milo”. It’s ‘ME-lo’, kind sir, not “My-lo”.
Forget that crud, I recommend the one I watched. Here’s the download link I used.

Once again, I hate MegaUpload. But damn, watching Milo’s routines in super slow motion (around eighty times slower, if I recall correctly) was so worth it, in my crazed opinion.
I may post screencaps later, that’s how much I loved it. Yay.
