During balance beam event finals at the 2007 European Championships, Sandra Izbasa (ROU), who is one of my favorites from this quadrennium, injured herself on her dismount. This, along with other issues, was probably part of the reason why she was so lackluster at 2007 Worlds.

She had the grace and presence of mind to blow a kiss to the crowd, before limping off the podium and crying in her coach’s arms.
But afterwards, while icing her foot, she was able to muster up a beautiful smile for the camera.
God I love this girl.
