In the end, this is what I’m about.

I love women’s artistic gymnastics, because it might very well be one of the toughest sports in the world and it looks amazing when it’s well done. But what fascinates me more is the stark contrast between what these ladies do, and who they really are.
I like seeing how human they are, even if I don’t like what I see. I don’t just want to praise or criticize what these ladies can do physically. I want to try to see them as a whole person, to see both sides; who they are outside, and who they are inside. That’s all I can do, because I’m no real expert.
Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
I swear that I did not mean to turn this blog into the Romanian Gymnastics Show, but I just had to post this video of former Romanian national team coaches Octavian Belu and Mariana Bitang. Belu has been accused of being a bully and a liar, but he was a very, very successful coach, well-loved by those whom he loved; and well, he’s pretty funny too. I can’t oppose funny people forever!
He’s got some moves, eh? After watching this, I will forever associate Octavian Belu with James Brown’s “I Feel Good” and whipped cream. (That sounded kind of dirty.)
Notice that, at 1:17, Belu accidentally causes a wedding cake to fall; that was Simona Amânar getting married there.
I feel good, I knew that I would now!
