In which Nastia lays the smackdown on people saying she’s “too old”, while everyone seems to forget that Chellsie and Alicia are older than her.
HERE you go…
Sac drinks coffee, Nast drinks tea
Little brown jug how I love thee…
…sorry, couldn’t help it. HAHAHA

Well, actually, I have kind of depressing news to report: Geralen Stack-Eaton didn’t fare very well in the DTB Cup balance beam finals, despite her truly heroic efforts in preliminaries; she fell to last (8th) place. Zhou Zhuoru, I believe, won that round.
Tomorrow is Nastia Liukin’s birthday, so you better get those party hats [...]

…because you can’t call them the Magnificent 7.
Today the Worlds team, including Bridget (who was wearing a gold medal too!) were interviewed on the Today Show. Duh.
Not much to report here…Shawn did say “It was such an honor.” (Note she didn’t use the contraction “it’s”. The girl is trying.)

Boots and jeans are the order of [...]

DTB Cup Yay!

Or not, because Jana wasn’t there. I’m sad.
The DTB Cup, currently taking place in Stuttgart, hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for USA’s Geralen Stack-Eaton; she majorly BOMBED the uneven bars (her score was so frigging low I’m not even going to post it!) but I heard that she rallied to get a respectable 15.075 in [...]

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a copy of International Gymnast magazine today, thanks to my roommate, who knows that I am “obsessed with gymnastics”. Gossip: The Post-Worlds Slump

Recent Rumors:

Chellsie’s getting back on the bars. Rumor has it is that she’s performing full sets. Not very believable if she really had “major” surgery. Yay for her, anyway.
However, [...]

Here’s a nice collection of old but interesting articles and stuff about our favorite Gym Dawg that I have dredged up from the Web…most of them date from 2004, and are from the Baltimore Sun, which isn’t surprising, given that Courtney was from Maryland:

Courtney Kupets as defined by the Urban Dictionary. I don’t know if [...]

How Shawn Stumped Me

I was trying to decipher Shawn’s Chinese name from her 2006 Nationals leotard. This is what I got so far:

Notice that one of the characters is missing. Why? Because I was using this dinky picture–I can’t make out the second-to-last character:

I have several candidates for the Missing Character, but none of them look the same, [...]

Part 2a.
So, what about Beijing?
Well, before I go around naming people right and left, let’s look at the history books. (I did some research for this, so I had better be rewarded for my pains someday. Ha.)
2001-2004 Period
2001 World Team: Bhardwaj, Heenan, Miles, Schwikert, Tidd, Yim
2002 World “Team”: Humphrey, Kupets, Postell, Sheehan
2003 World Team: Humphrey, [...]
